Group Tours with Rosa Ramirez Carlson

Dr. Donna Pierce is former Jan and Frederick Mayer Curator of Spanish Colonial Art and Chair of the New World Department at the Denver Art Museum. She also has served as curator at the Museum of International Folk Art and the New Mexico History Museum Palace of the Governors. She has authored and edited numerous publications on the art of the colonial Americas, including Painting a New World: Mexican Art and Life, 1521-1821, Spanish New Mexico: the Spanish Colonial Arts Society Collection, Companion to Spanish Colonial Art (pictured), and Transforming Images: New Mexican Santos In-Between Worlds.

The tour will include slide lectures by Dr. Donna Pierce.  If there is sufficient interest, informal Spanish classes and Spanish language tertulias (conversations) will be conducted throughout the trip.
